My son needs to undergo a procedure to expand his airways. He had his consultation already. The clinic told us that they want half of the bill upfront, which is $5,500. The total cost is close to $11k. Once that’s completed they will go through my insurance and will reimburse whatever the insurance covers. I haven’t encountered this practice before and was pretty surprised, especially when I overheard another patient complaining that he had been waiting 4 months for his check. Is this pretty normal or should I run away? Thanks.
