ESRD Medicare end date

I have Medicare because I had a kidney transplant on 6/6/2018. I know that I am only eligible for 36 months, unless I need dialysis or get another transplant.

I thought I would no longer be eligible on 6/1/2021 since my Part A coverage started on 6/1/2018, Part B on 9/1/2018. (I’m 43, so I am not eligible for Medicare otherwise)

But I have another premium bill from Medicare for Part B for 6/1 – 8/31. I had assumed that I would not receive another bill since my coverage would end. Medicare said that Social Security had not entered a termination date yet, which is why I have the bill. Social Security said my actual end date is 6/30/2021, but it felt like he had to lookup and then count in his head 36 months and came up with the end of June.

Is that right?
