Express Scripts strikes again. Wanting to explore other options.

TLDR: I want new Rx insurance but don’t know what to do. I currently have Express Scripts through my dad’s company and they keep screwing things up for me.

I made another post about Express Scripts not covering my birth control anymore. Still no resolution with that issue – I have another appointment with my doctor in a few weeks so I’ll check in then. I’m not optimistic that a prior authorization will be approved with birth control, honestly, and I’m really worried.

Today I went to get my Viibryd refilled. For some reason, Express Scripts won’t cover it unless I get a 90 day supply. I don’t even know if I’ll be on this medication another 90 days – I’ve only been on it a little over a month and I have an appointment with my doctor in a few weeks to check in. But I went to get the 90 days filled today because I need the medication. It was going to be $500 even after insurance.

The pharmacist then calls me over and says we only have 35 of these left and your insurance won’t cover a partial refill. I’m actually out of my meds right now – I normally NEVER let my meds run out but I was out of town for most of the refill window and honestly I don’t think that’s relevant in this case. I took my last one this morning and thought there would be no problem getting them filled. Never had an issue like this before. I’m asking right now – please don’t comment on the fact that I ran out, because the issue here is Express Scripts refusing to fill a supply under 90.

Their website lists Viibryd as part of their exclusions list. There are 5 alternatives – 3 that I’ve tried before and 2 that my psychiatrist won’t put me on for various reasons. I’ve already gotten a prior authorization for Viibryd. They gave me a 30 day supply last month and it doesn’t make any sense that they won’t anymore.

I’m so sick of Express Scripts changing things like this. At this point, I’m seriously worried they’ll do something with my Vyvanse – which I truly can’t function without taking.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do? I’d love to try and add Rx back to my Cigna plan. However, my insurance is through my dad’s company, so I highly doubt that’s an option.

I’m stuck. I don’t know what to do. And I’m absolutely furious.
