My claim was denied because the precertification/authorization was absent, I was told I didn’t have to do anything prior to my appointment and that any services done by said specialist would be covered. I haven’t received a bill from their office yet but it is showing up as a total of $400 on the Denial Notice. I do have a written letter from my optometrist stating that I go see a specialist/ophthalmologist for my eye health as she was concerned about the blood vessels in my eyes, Would that help at all? I can afford to just pay it off and take it as a lesson learned, but obviously if I don’t have to I’d rather not. I have Affinity by Molina Healthcare (Medicaid Managed Care) in NYS. Still new to how all of this works.
