So as the title says. My fiancee’s son has pretty extreme pre-existing conditions and racks up medical bills that the state (Indiana) pays the vast majority of, including his prescriptions. This is because of their income level obviously. However, I am getting out of the army very soon and moving in and I am looking at jobs that are over eligibility limit. The concern is that if I get one of those jobs (~85k/year) he will get taken off of what we know works, and we don’t know enough about how to keep him covered without going completely broke. Would a HSA be the correct course of action here, or would there be a slight chance that he could retain some eligibility for Medicaid and CHIP?
