I applied for the new york state united healthcare but I see that I am required to have a general doctor/PCP now which they chose for me :*( and I’m scared I won’t be able to stay with my PCP & my specialist doctors that I have now with my PPO insurance I have now (I was spoiled before I had medicaid).
I also couldn’t get anything thought because I couldn’t afford medical care before so I’m thankful for medicaid but I’m really worried about this.
I chose the united healthcare community plan because I thought that more doctors and mental health psychotherapists are in network with united healthcare? Is that true?
Does fidelis not have many psychotherapists in networks and EMDR specialists? Idk what to do or if I should change or if united healthcare does let you choose your primary care physician and i’ll be bale to keep my specialist doctors?
I also thought that the NY United healthcare community plan lets you see doctors in other states (in case I travel and get sick somewhere) but fidelis doesn’t? In case of an emergency?
Anyone have experience with fidelis and united healthcare? I need mental health help more than anything right now but i want to keep my doctors too
