Filing a grievance

I am having trouble getting ABA services for my autistic daughter. The in-network providers are basically non-existent or are not taking new clients. It took a month before I finally got Magellan to approve a single-contract agreement with an out-of-network provider that is actually able to take my daughter as a client (there are often wait-lists, it’s hard to get). Unfortunately, this provider is telling me that Magellan is offering “considerably lower than the standard rate” compared to other insurance companies.

Magellan, from the beginning, made it difficult to even get to this point. (The phone representatives told me on more than one occasion that I did not have ABA coverage, which is a lie). I reached out to a couple of different Autism-Advocacy agencies, and I was told to file a grievance.

Does anyone know what the protocol is for such a thing? Do I just call and complain, how does it work? How specific do I have to be in my complaint? After I file, what happens? Any advice would help. Thanks

In case it matters, I am in Connecticut, USA
