Filing a quality of care complaint

I am receiving TMS treatments for depression. There is only one provider covered by my insurance in the area for me, and the quality of care has been horrendous. Chronic tardiness on the part of the tech administering treatment, last minute appointment cancellations due to understaffing, etc. I’m frustrated and just want to receive the treatment I expected from the beginning, I want the office to follow clinical protocol so I have a positive outcome from treatment.

It was suggested that I could file a quality of care complaint with my own insurance company, and that they would likely assist in applying pressure to the office to provide better care. I’m afraid— if I complain to my insurance, is there a chance they will pull authorization all together? Or cut off the clinic? I don’t want to do anything that will get in the way of receiving appropriate medical care for my condition.

If anyone has filed a complaint like this before or knows anything about this, I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

Edit: I’m 36, zip code is 28203, and I’m under unitedhealthcare
