Hi everyone, I am a young adult who is declaring herself independent for the first time this year. I’m very healthy person and I have been to the doctors very sparingly in the past few years. My question is, should I pay for a more expensive insurance? I’m looking at three plans right ranging from $150 to $250 per month but I am not sure which one to pick. The cheapest one has a deductible of around $8,500 and won’t cover me for anything until I pay that amount. The middle one has a deductible of $4,900 with a copayment of $15 for drugs and $55 for a primary physician. The most expensive one has a deductible of 1,000 and is the cheapest copayment after drugs and primary physician.
I know since I’m healthy I probably shouldn’t go for the most expensive one since I probably won’t use but I’m mainly afraid of having an accident and having to pay a lot of money before the insurance kicks in. Is there an excel sheet or some kind of formula that will help me choose?
