(FL) Moved from state job to private sector and seeing insane premium

I worked in a state job where I was capped at 50k a year, but the health insurance premium was only $180 per month for a wife and 2 dependents younger than 16. I opted to work in the private sector to earn more and found a gig making 71k. However, the issue I’m finding is that through the employer-sponsored plan our premium is $880 a month. There was a cheaper plan but we didn’t feel safe with the high deductible and two young and clumsy kids. It doesn’t seem as though the employer splits any costs and I’d understand that because the employer is a small tech company that really hasn’t invested much in its employees.

My question for the group: would it fair better to test out the marketplace and secure something else or is this the best I can get via the private sector?
