Florida – Fiancé Pregnant and Without Insurance

Hey everyone!

Here’s the situation: I am employed but do not have insurance through work as I am covered by the VA.

My fiancé is pregnant with our second child. Due to COVID, she is unemployed and collecting unemployment. My income alone is right at the threshold for qualification based on household earnings ($41k before taxes). Her unemployment puts us over that limit. We only qualify for shared cost Medicaid at $3800.00 per month.

We’re looking at significant out of pocket expense. Any advice or insight would be much appreciated!

Edit to include suggested info: Age: 33, she is 36. Zip code: 34677 Income: $41,000/yr plus her unemployment benefits.
