I am 55 and my wife is 51. We are BOTH unemployed, legit Florida US residents who own our home, and mortgage is current on forebearance until June 30th, when our mortgage company has agreed in writing to move the unpaid balance into deferment. So the wolf is away from the door on that for now. We have been living on savings but that is quickly running out. Neither of us have health insurance since June 2020 when my wife became unemployed. (Her insurance covered both of us.) I have been unemployed since March 2020, and my unemployment ran out months ago. She does not qualify for unemployment. Healthcare.gov will only allow me to select $800 monthly plans. Cannot pay that or anything remotely near that with $0 household income. Using video doctor service at $29 each, per visit to get prescriptions written. Cannot see a real doctor, and my diabetes prescription is $70 per 90 days with GoodRx discount, but I will not be able to afford that as of next month. As a diabetic 2, my Diabetes pills (pioglizone/metformin) is life-threatening to go without. Is there some way or some agency that would help us get Medicaid until we can get past the Covid economy (nobody hiring above 7 per hour) and get back to work? Apologies for the wall-o-text 🙁 Thanks for reading!
