I am pregnant and recently got billed for the bloodwork they order at the beginning of pregnancy. Everything came back reasonably except for one charge. I called BCBS to ask why it was not covered and they told me it was a drug test. They said bc it was coded for pregnancy and that’s not a routine pregnancy test. I called my provider and they said that they do a drug screen as a routine test for pregnancy so it was coded correctly. I was not told I would be getting this test and feel that a $700 charge is unreasonable. Is there anything I can do?
