Hello, I came here on a non-immigrant visa (my spouse is from the US and isn’t insured himself) and am 6 months pregnant. If I apply for adjustment of status now, I can’t leave the country until I get advanced parole (in 5 to 7 months minimum). I can’t come back with a kid and try to adjust status as this will be immigration fraud and they won’t let me in with a us citizen kid and me being married to a us citizen on a tourist visa anyways. So I can’t just give birth at home in the EU and come back. It’s either adjust my status now and give birth uninsured or be apart from my spouse for 2 years while I’m waiting for a green card to get processed overseas. Does anyone know whether I could possibly navigate cost of childbirth without insurance here at all??? I don’t think I can apply for Medicaid since by the time of my birth I’ll still just be a tourist and my spouse’s income is too high for it.
