I’m on CT medicaid, called Husky D.
This insurance covers health, dental, and eyes. I have health issues(but am not considered disabled), so having this insurance has been very beneficial to me.
I just got a job. 20hrs, so no benefits. $19/hr. Which brings me to $1,520/month. Husky D has a max income limit, which is $1,468/month.
I checked AccessHealthCT website, it showed me a $20/month plan with a $650 deductible. And that I may be eligible for Cost-Sharing Reduction. No dental, which I need, and I’m currently on 5 medications so that adds up. The amount I would need to pay would end up bringing me back below the income limit.
So by getting a better paying job, I lose access to what has been excellent health care? Do I have any other options?
