We had a baby about 10 months ago. We hit deductible and this week collection agency called trying to collect on an anesthesia bill. Called hospital and insurance company and apparently the bill was never sent to insurance company. So am not sure what to do here. If it doesn’t get resolved we are thinking of having attorney send letter to collection agency and hospital. Is this a good strategy? The biggest problem is trying to get it all sorted out as hospital puts us on hold for long time or we get voicemail and we get the run-around. We never got the bill at first from the hospital, first time we heard of it was from collections. Then we checked hospital and the bill is there in their system.
Our insurance is bought from obamacare exchange so is not one of the really cheap plans, we paid lots for it and have paid full deductible.
Any advice ?
We live in Texas and had the care in Texas.
