So I honestly hate my job so much. Lol.
I was only every other weekend and substitute teaching during the week. Boom, pandemic hits, bye bye subbing. Until now, schools are all open again and have been for a month.. I have 2 vaccine doses. Im ready. Obviously that part time job went full time for income purposes. I got their insurance, its decent, no issues with that.
But I’m seriously losing my marbles doing this job full time. I was totally cool with it every other weekend, and enjoyed it. Now I want to go back to what I was doing before.
My employer does not offer health insurance for part time employees. I’m a little worried how much of a hassle it will be to go part time, lose job based coverage, apply to the marketplace for subsidized insurance (I only make like 26k) and have to prove I lost it. I’m NOT looking forward to asking my employer if when I lose coverage if it covers until the end of the month or ends right when I start full time. I want as small a gap as possible between insurance plans.
I don’t desire to work 1 full time job vs 2 part time currently. I hate my life at this job and I’m only staying full time for the benefits.
I’m meeting with a local marketplace broker on Friday to talk all this over. Obviously, I want to know my options and make a plan, see what’s possible if I drop to part time.
Any advice is appreciated.
TLDR; only staying full time at my job because of insurance, want to go back to 2 part time jobs and switch insurance, how much of a hassle is it?
