Health insurance dropped my kids because of a technicality

Here’s the story, my wife and I decided in an effort to save money I would drop the kids off my insurance and she would place them on hers. Apparently my wife had a mix up on her employer’s health insurance website and they stated we had to show them when they were dropped off my insurance plan, which is fine, but they told us 30 minutes after we were supposed to give them the documentation.

My wife then attempted to appeal it but was denied on tht basis, “we have you plenty of time to fix this.”

I’ve never been in a situation like this and really don’t know what to do. I’m going to talk to a lawyer on Monday.
