I’m a 25 year old male living in VA. I currently have Medicaid through CoverVA. I make approximately $70k income as a Jr. Systems Engineer. I’m just doing my research so I am ready for whenever my coverage does expire – I have the following conditions: Depression, Anxiety, sebhorric dermatitis, SVT.
I was in the hospital for five days for pneumonia, imagine how much that would’ve costed me!
What I’d like to do is find a health insurance plan that is zero-deductible. My understanding is that different states offer different rates and that all varies on the provider and marketplace plans.
Is there a state that has better healthcare insurance plans than the other? If there is, would I have to move there? What kind of plan would cover out-of-state visits? If I physically reside in another state.
If it is of any reference, I have family in NJ/NY/CT/MA and an uncle in the UK. The UK does offer free healthcare but that would introduce a whole set of other problems. Another idea I had was move to TX and cross the border for cheaper healthcare and better prescription options in MX.
For ex. My friend from El Salvador has no insurance, she resides in VA like me. She has anxiety/depression and takes Ansiovit which is a ‘natural supplement’ which is not available in the United States.
