I’m having some long-term issues with my birth control. My new healthcare provider did a test to rule out a common infection as the cause of my symptoms. Because the test is not considered medically necessary, I am now on the hook for $300+. I am able to appeal the insurance decision, but I’m wary of giving out too much health information to my insurance so my premium doesn’t increase. How can I safely appeal the decision?
I’m F/30/TN with an income less than $20,000 because I’m an idiot who joined AmeriCorps.
