HELP. My husband is apart of a union and has a group plan health insurance that he is unable to opt out of due to it being apart of his “package” by being in the trade union. Looking at his total package his insurance is about 900 dollars a month. I just started a job that doesn’t offer a group plan insurance but rather an individual ICHRA plan that states if I’m covered under my spouses group plan I’m ineligible for their insurance. My husbands insurance states that if I’m offered insurance and the premium is under 250, I have to take it as a primary and his secondary, but with these plans I’m unable to take his. The insurance offered at my job is extremely expensive for something decent and the deductibles are outrageous. I’m 8 months pregnant and might have to quit my job just to afford birth. Does this seem ethical or fair to anyone? Is there anything I can do about it?
