self employed looking for health insurance in NYC, moving from CA, I do not qualifying for any great benefits in the state of New York (as I allegedly may not have my 2020 taxes done yet) as a result of not qualifying my options for public dont seem amazing (most being north of $600 a month)
one broker I spoke to (at this point I cant remember how I found but feels very scam like) had put me in direction of a PPO from a private company “Alliance for shared health, PHCS Network” from around $300 a month, here’s the craziest part the coverage is nationwide?
upon asking if it was ACA compliant the person on the phone said yes, but upon reviewing their info packet the legal section says nothing about ACA compliance and says they are
“Alliance for Shared Health (ASH) is an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit health share ministry. ASH facilitates the sharing of member medical needs between members based upon the sharing level at which each member chooses to participate.”
now I understand alliance is not insurance , but PHCS network is? and I would have a PPO from them? the PHCS network is through multiplan which I believe is a real provider?
any information helps, sincerely a person just trying to be healthy
another interesting part is when I asked for more information for multiplan the agent was only able to give me a packet on Alliance not multiplan, is multiplan ACA complaint?
