HMO – if I add a dependent, do they need to select a PCP within the same medical group

This is specifically regarding Anthem in California, my coverage is employer sponsored. I am on an HMO plan and I’ll be adding a dependent when my child is born. My OB is on my case about selecting a pediatrician and I’d like to select someone much closer than where my PCP and medical group are located. When I add a dependent to my plan, am I able to select a PCP/pediatrician for them outside of the medical group I’ve selected for myself or are they limited to the same medical group. I know they will be covered under my plan automatically after the birth for 30 days, I’m specifically asking about when I add them officially to my coverage. Thank you!
