Home address vs Service address

Hello,

I’m getting mixed messages and wantd to see what people here thought. I’m currently in the process of relocating from CA to NV with my works blessing. My wife is also pregnant due on April 1st. We also don’t expect to close on our house until very close to her due date. This means it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to make a change to my home address until after the birth.

We have insurance through my company with Cigna. I called Cigna to see if we’d run into issues using our insurance in NV. The person that I spoke to said they were nationwide but since my current home address isn’t a NV address, they wouldn’t offer coverage for her birth in NV. My wife called and spoke to someone else and they told her that it wasn’t an issue and home address and service address doesn’t have to match.

Has anyone came across this scenario before? I don’t want her to give birth in NV and then be on the hook for a $75k hospital bill because my address wasn’t transferred to NV in time.

Thanks in advanced!
