I went to a mental health facility last year where I did a virtual outpatient program. My insurance covered 100% of the Virtual treatment, however, the hospital claims that I stayed on-campus for a week. I have proof, in the form of hospital’s records, saying that I did it all virtually. My insurance is not covering 100% of the on-campus stay, so I now owe the hospital. I’d spent months trying to contact the hospital to get this issue resolved via phone but was sent to voicemail everytime. Eventually, I filed two rievances with my insurance company. Now, I have received mail saying that the money owed to the hospital has gone to collections. At this point, my mental health has been so fucked up by this situation that I so so desperately want to sue this hospital. Any advice on what I should do now? I sure as hell am not paying that false bill.
I am 28, living in Georgia, USA.
