My son needs residential psychiatric care. We have insurance coverage for this but only in-network. However, there are only 3 places that the insurance company could help me find. 2 had no spaces for months and 1 was actually drug treatment. They said I could go out of network. His psychiatrist and I found a place for him, it seems perfect and it is very well recommended. The only thing is, they refuse to work with insurance companies. My insurance company-Empire BC/BS-wants someone from the facility to call them and give them his assessment when he gets there. But the facility refuses to do that. The facility costs a lot of money. I am self-employed and pay about $28,000/yr for my families insurance (that’s just the premium). I’ll pay and get reimubursed and Empire will do it but I’m not sure how to get the facility to give Empire to give them any info. Any recommendations?
