I moved to CT from VA in early September and am starting an application through AccessHealthCT. The way I see it I have two options of either going the route of reporting my qualifying life change, or just waiting a few days and applying during open enrollment. But I’m confused about what kind of documentation I’m going to need to provide as proof of CT residency in either case, and can’t find specific enough instructions for this online, so help would be greatly appreciated.
Under the instructions for demonstrating a move to CT they list “Proof of your address change from another state” but don’t give any further detail on what would qualify as that proof. They also request utility bills from your previous/current addresses, which I have, but I can’t tell if the “proof of address change” thing is in addition to that and what they would want for it if so.
If I went the route of open enrollment I’d need to be a CT resident, but when I google CT residency it says that it’s defined as living in CT for a full year. I can’t find any other specific rules for what defines residency for health insurance purposes. Am I going to need to go through any other processes like changing my driver’s license & voting registration?
