We just moved to Indiana from NY where my husband was covered through Medicaid. Now that we are in IN, we need to find him a health plan. My husband essentially is very healthy and rarely sees a doctor but he has been having excruciating pain in his knees and before we left NY we did Xrays and bloodwork and everything was fine. (We want to check his knees out in IN, perhaps he needs a specialist for therapy? )
Anyways, I am seeing all this information I have never heard about…
Deductibles? Out of pocket expenses? Copays? Coinsurance for hospital visits?
Essentially, I know the basic concepts and meanings of these…but when I check out the package of the plan there are so many loopholes and things that are confusing… can someone just give me a run down on how all this stuff works and tips and important stuff I should look out for?
He just plans on seeing a regular doctor and a specialist for his knees…. nothing out of the ordinary. He is pretty healthy…
