Hi! I I”m wondering if someone could give me insight on from a financial perspective on the wide world of health insurance? I’m getting kicked off of my parents insurance this year and am looking at the options. I have very comparable insurance to my spouse through work, they each cover about 75% of premiums and offer 2 plans a high deductible plan with an HSA (with generous company match) and a low deductible plan. My husband is healthy and rarely goes to the doctor, but I’m the problem child and have kidney disease so right now I’m guaranteed to see a nephrologist and urologist every 6 months to have a blood test, pee test, and ultrasound done each visit at the least. I know for healthy individuals the HSA plan is the way to go, but for people like me that aren’t as blessed do you think it would it save us more in the long run to go with the low deductible plan sans the HSA or stick with the HSA? I’d also love any thoughts and opinions on United Healthcare vs. Blue cross blue shield! 🙂
