HSA Question – Does Non-Contributed Balance After Termination Need to be Repaid?

Hello everyone,

I have an HSA through my employer. The annual balance is $1000 but I’ve only contributed $211 year to date. On this plan, the whole annual balance is available to use on Jan 1st even though I contribute small amounts weekly.

If I were to get terminated or leave this employer, would I have to pay back money that was already spent that’s over my year to date contributions?

Thank you all!
