I have Kaiser insurance, and in my coverage documents, it states that vaccines have no charge so long as I’m in network. It’s preventive care.
On my insurance card, it has the OptumRx logo. Walgreens is part of that Optum network.
I go to Walgreens and ask about the cost of Tdap vaccine. They look it up via their computer system, and say that insurance only covers part of it, and that I have to pay ~$50 out-of-pocket.
This doesn’t make any sense. I decline the vaccine and leave the store. What’s going on here?
