I had back surgery on October last year. The hospital required a $489 deposit the night before surgery. I paid it and have receipts. I reached what I thought was my out of pocket limit, but when I checked my insurance, they don’t have record of the $489 hospital charge. When I spoke to them, they said I need to get the money back from the hospital and have them process it through insurance. When I contact the hospital, they try to explain that it was a fee for this and that and that I need to call my insurance if I have a problem.
I don’t know what I need to say to them to either get the money back, or get it processed through insurance so they give me money back that I overpaid for out of pocket.
I also have a $298 deposit that I made to the spine center when I first started seeing them, and my insurance doesn’t have record of that either, and they say the same, I need to get the money back and have them process it through insurance.
All together, it would be the majority of my out of pocket maximum of $1k.
I’d appreciate whatever advice I can get. Thanks.
