I signed up for high deductible health plan, now I am in need of medical care and don’t want to pay the $1400 deductible. (I know I’m stupid). Is there another way around this? Is there a way to sign up for a different insurance plan mid year or from a different provider?

I have UHC through my work. I have a skin issue that may need a biopsy. According to my insurance website this could cost me as much as $1600 (1400 deductible and 200 co-insurance.) My open enrollment isn’t until October and at this point I don’t want to wait.

Is it possible for me to sign up for a second insurance plan, like 3rd party? Would this even make sense or am I asking something stupid?

I’m 30 and in zip code area 52404. I make around $50k a year and I’m married, but my families insurance is through my partners work. My own insurance is through my work.
