First of all, I’m not sure if I’m on the right subreddit but perhaps someone can guide me in the right direction?
When looking at my W-2 and from 1095-C for this past year I noticed that my form 1095-C was not blank like the previous year and I panicked.
~$279 withheld every month smh.
The only notification I have of this is where we were notified via an all staff email back in December of 2021 that if we don’t decline we will be auto enrolled.
I got screwed and didn’t read that email as we get bombarded with a lot of county BS emails (employed by contractor for county govt), not to mention no flags indicating the email was important.
But I don’t see an email or any notification in 2020 prepping me to be f**ked all of 2021 with 279 withheld every month.
I have also been insured via Medicare in the state I live(work in neighbouring state) for the last 3 years but I have yet to receive any health insurance card or anything about this employer insurance that I have apparently had for 15 months now -_-
I don’t even know the name of the health insurance company that I’m apparently insured under.
Is this legal under ACA?
Is there anything I can do now to get my withheld money back? Or to even cancel this for the remaining of this year?
Any help or guidance or pointing to a different subreddit is greatly appreciated!!!
