I would like to move to the USA, trying to learn more about insurance there first.

I’m aware there is no healthcare per se, it’s basically insurance. I have Googled, but the figures that I get for policies/rates differ a lot (about 500 a month for basic health insurance?) I’m also aware no two plans are exactly the same and I will do my due diligence before committing to anything.

However I hope you can help with some basic queries? I’ve used this as my baseline reference :

a) How much is a consultation on average? (I was quoted 100+, meds separate)

b) Mental health is only covered only insurance, yes?

c) Does insurance typically cover dental or things like alternative medicine?

d) Do you still copay even with insurance? (this was the case for therapy for me, but not for other things, I have lived in the USA before)

I am in generally good health, and have actually lived with insurance for most of my life. I don’t actually plan on getting insurance in the States, but I would like to be informed.
