I am considering a remote job, but the health insurance is through highmark BCBS of western NY. I live in a different state (nearby, on the same coast), and get healthcare in that different state and another neighboring state. It is very important that I don’t have to switch doctors because I am chronically ill and see specialists that have extensive waiting lists. I am nervous because on my hospital’s website, it said they accept BCBS of the state the hospital is located in, but nothing about highmark BCBS of western NY. Does this mean that highmark BCBS of western NY is not accepted by them? Or will it be ok because it is under the general BCBS umbrella?
I appreciate any help. I just got on my own health insurance last summer and this is my first time dealing with a job change, particularly one that will be remote so the insurance is based out of state. Sorry if it was a dumb question, it’s just a lot to navigate.
