Ignoring Medicaid Eligibility Requests (Nevada)

I currently have health insurance through the marketplace. I get an advanced premium tax credit which lowers my monthly payments to around $12/month. I am happy with my health insurance so far. Recently I lost my job and reported the loss of income on the healthcare website. When I updated the info, the website told me that I may be eligible for Medicaid and that my state’s department of welfare would contact me regarding my eligibility.

I do not want to go on Medicaid. I am fine with my current health insurance and the tax credits I get. Plus I already have a doctor who doesn’t even accept Medicaid and I don’t want to go through the hassle of finding a new doctor, especially when I already have appointments booked in advance with my current doctor.

I’ve heard that if you’re deemed eligible for Medicaid, you can’t get the tax credits to help cover the cost of a marketplace plan even if you decline Medicaid. The department of welfare has tried to contact me regarding additional info they need to process my claim. My question is, can I just ignore their requests and let them mark me as ineligible for Medicaid as a result so I can just continue with my current healthcare plan that I am happy with?
