So I’m trying to get my girlfriend to quit smoking and Illinois Blue across will cover any smoking cessation agents for free, such as nicotine patches, but she is concerned that she will be charged the tobacco user surcharge if she gets a prescription for nicotine patches. I don’t think that’s the way it works since that would defeat the purpose of covering them for free, but was wondering if anyone knows otherwise. I know we can just buy them but trying to use any incentive to get her to quit. She’s also on her mom’s policy that doesn’t know she smokes. Thanks in advance.
