My job ended recently and in July I recieved the COBRA packet. Normally I wouldn’t be able to afford it, but inside it said through the ARP it would cover the entire cost of my plan through Sept 30. I decided to elect because why not, two months of free coverage is better than no coverage at all.
Now I’ve recently learned about the healthcare.gov coverage for people who were on unemployment (which I currently am on and was on for much of last year). It would obviously serve me much better as it goes until the end of 2021, but the deadline to apply is August 15th and I’m worried screwed up big time by electing COBRA instead. What can I do?
