I am about 22 months out of chemotherapy after I was treated for Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it went very well as I have been cancer free ever since. I do have one underlying issue and that’s my hair. I had amazingly thick hair before and now it grew back incomplete and extremely thin and it has not recovered ever since. Same as my nails they barely grow at all. I got a referral from my oncologist for a hair loss specialist that they had in their department but my referral was denied by my insurance. I then called and asked if I could pay out of pocket but they said “ if paid for out of pocket my insurance might be revoked”. That has got to be one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. What can I do to get approved to see the specialist because I’m stuck in this position.
