I have had health insurance through Covered California for a year now but I recently got a new job where I am making more money than before. I updated the information in the CC website and now it says I make too much money to get any financial help, so I asked my HR department about switching to my work insurance. She said that I need a letter from Medi-Cal that I am no longer eligible.
The problem is that everything on the CC site specifically says I am eligible, but the prices went from $1.00(not a typo) a month, to $350-450 a month, which I cannot afford to pay.
So does this qualify as a qualifying event for me to get a Special enrollment period if I had to cancel my insurance through CC due to not being able to afford it?
