I’ve just arrived and starting working in the US at a university medical school with I’m told excellent health coverage. I’ve started work and enrolled in health insurance.
Where do I start in terms of getting a primary care doctor and registering my ongoing health issues with them? Can I make an appointment under insurance just to go in and list medications etc?
I also wondered, if you go in for something you think is an issue and the doctor thinks it’s nothing, can your insurance then refuse to pay and bill you for the visit and any tests?
Thanks!
