Hello!
I just moved from DE to PA. I only expect to live here for one year, and then I will either be moving back to DE or to a different state. The only reason I got a PA license is that I cannot get a parking permit in my Philly neighborhood without having one, and it will cost me a lot of money to pay for a parking garage.
Other than that, I still consider myself a Delawarian… My Sole Proprietorship is registered at my parents’ address in Delaware, I stay there at least a few days every week, and my health insurance plan is in Delaware.
I am in an awkward situation where I went to the dentist a few weeks ago while I still had my Delaware license, and they told me to come back in May to get some cavities fixed. The problem is, I just changed my license to PA in between the appointment dates, so I am wondering if I am still eligible to use my DE insurance to get these cavities fixed?
I am also very new to the insurance game since I finally got insured in January for the first time, since prior to this I was always under my parents’ insurance plan.
Is it fine to use my DE insurance if I consider myself to be living in both states? What do people do who travel all the time, or who live in Florida for 6 months and then up north for the rest of the year? I am thinking it may be okay, but now that my license doesn’t line up, I’m uncertain.
