Like a million other people here, I’m turning 26 soon and trying to navigate this chaos.
I’m just curious what y’all think my better option would be off the top of your head. I will probably be doing heavy math later.
My main medical need is medications and psychiatry. I believe I can use good Rx (or Amazon prime) and I found some tele-psychiatry through psychology today .com that is less than $100 per visit. So that’s my situation. I’m not worried about dental or vision, I believe my college has these benefits/cheap alternative but I need to do more research. Also for context, I’m a full time student until 2023 and then I’ll get a job with some benefits cross my fingers. I wish I had graduated sooner to prevent this health insurance chaos. Oh well.
So what I’m curious about is this: do I go with a catastrophic plan, $230 a month with $8000 ish deductible and OOP. Or should I upgrade to a plan with prescriptions and specialist doctors included with low copays.
Again I’m going to do more research and heavy math but I’m thinking y’all will have an inkling about which plan is better. Thank you for any advice in advance.
