I can afford private insurance BUT they don’t want to sell it to me. Under ADA I am considered “disabled,” so insurance companies always say I must take government help first. I haven’t had a seizure in 10 years, but technically, I do still have epilepsy. It’s so minor, I take meds at the lowest dose possible, and even when I miss doses I’m okay ask long as I’m not stressed and go days without it. (I don’t want to lie and say I don’t have epilepsy when insurance applications straight up ask that.) I’m my own employer with a sole proprietorship. I’m going to get my scuba license and start doing it weekly. I already swim multiple times a week. diver’s insurance is not required but encouraged because insurance rates go up if you need it and they found it it’s from an “extreme” sport. Even if I’m not paying for insurance. (They won’t let me!!!) Will medí-cal cover it?
