So I recently started Medicaid, I lost my job due to covid and therefore lost my previous insurance. I have prescriptions I need to take and also need to have a surgical consult. I have blue cross blue sheild “essential plan” and it has been a nightmare to say the least. Every office I have contacted that is listed on the site has told me they don’t accept BCBS Medicaid. I have had three offices tell me this so far, as well as the surgery center I was referred to. My previous primary care doctor is a private office and doesn’t take Medicaid. I’m feeling really discouraged and wondering if anyone else has had issues like this? I switched to United because one office told me they accept United healthcare Medicaid but I won’t qualify for that until October. I need my medications now and can’t start working until I have them, can someone please help? I live in Brooklyn, NY.
