Molina Marketplace Insurance: Future Bills

Hi,

I have a general question about my current insurance (Molina, see title) and I’m hoping someone here can help!

Age: 30F State: Florida

I receive letters of Explanation of Benefits in the mail after I have seen a healthcare provider. It’s what was sent to Molina from the providers and what the plan covers and it is not a bill, just an explanation. A lot of what I see on these papers I have paid at time of services, so I’m sure they’re taken care of. However I recently had a stay at a hospital where they didn’t bill Molina properly, and I would’ve been responsible for the full amount of the bill.

Some of the letters I have gotten have small amounts that it’s stating that I owe – an example is from different times I visited the hospital for a pre-operative visit. Essentially what I’m worried about is not receiving the actual bills from these places until late (I was told sometimes these things take up to a year to process!) and I’m anxious about missing / receiving a bill that may not have been properly coded or received by Molina. I just don’t like the idea that I could have medical debt hanging over my head that I’m not aware of, even though I try my best to make sure my insurance is managed. It’s a lot trying to navigate. Does anyone else have similar stress? Is there someone I can reach out to for an “overview” of my medical bills so I’m not blind sided?

I hope this makes sense! Thank you and happy navigating!
