I reached the out of pocket max about halfway through 2021. I switched from my work’s health insurance plan to my spouse’s plan Jan 1 2022. In February 2022 I saw some bills that needed to be paid and paid them. The hospital billed me (and I paid) about $1000 worth of services for Dec 2021. The hospital billed the 2022 insurance for Dec 2021 services. Like I mentioned I already reached my out of pocket max for 2021 earlier so essentially that $1000 should never have been billed to me. What are my options? I’ve called the hospital and insurance (Aetna) with little traction.
