I recently moved to Los Angeles from Canada on an L1B visa. I will be enrolling in individual insurance currently and my employer will be reimbursing me. I’m looking at the KP Platinum plan. It seems that I will be enrolling under the special enrollment period and my coverage won’t take affect until either March 1st or April 1st. What am I to do in the meantime? Is there short term insurance I can get? Or am I just screwed if something happens?
