How do I get Medicaid in Arizona before I move there or what is the best option for me being disabled?
I am currently in the hospital in Chicago, recently diagnosed with transverse myelitis and paralyzed from the stomach down. I was living in a condo with stairs with my mom who works so it would be extremely hard to go back there. I have medicaid in IL, and I am trying to move to Arizona with my dad who can take care of me and has no stairs in his house. But when I called to Medicaid office in AZ they said I have to be a resident for 9 months before I get Medicaid. I need to move there as soon as I get out rehab at the hospital on July 1st but don’t know what to do and I basically have no money. Just applied for disability.
Is there a way around this or do I have anymore options? The social worker here at the hospital sucks and doesn’t know any info and is no help. Trying to move to AZ asap but need insurance out there first for physical therapy and other things. Thank you
